da mrbet: Sheffield Wednesday may have just been handed added motivation for this weekend’s fixture after they were labelled as ‘complacent’ by an opposition coach.
What’s he said?
da bwin: The Owls host Bristol City at Hillsborough in Sunday’s early kickoff as they look to extend their unbeaten run to a sixth straight league game while the visitors will want to respond after back-to-back defeats.
Last time out, Garry Monk’s side thrashed fellow playoff hopefuls Nottingham Forest 4-0 on their own patch, and Robins coach Jamie McAllister believes they could well be riding the high going into this weekend.
He said:
“I think it’s a good time to play them. They’ll be confident and they might be a bit complacent.
“But it’s what we do. We’ve got to focus on us and if we can perform the way that we can then we can beat anyone in the league.
“If we get our game going – and we respect that they’re in a good vein of form – ultimately it’s up to what we do. If we perform as we can then we’ve got a chance.”
Misguided
If there’s one thing about this Owls side, it isn’t that they are complacent. If anything, it’s the complete opposite.
The players are faring well in the face of adversity, and that is something that will drive them throughout the season.
Five games without defeat and into the top five in the league all whilst facing the possibility of a 21-point deduction isn’t complacency, more like determination.

That attitude isn’t going to change because Lee Johnson’s Bristol City are in town – they sit just one point behind Wednesday, so a result at Hillsborough is going to be vital for Monk.
Therefore, McAllister must be careful that his misguided comments don’t come back to bite him come dinner time on Sunday afternoon.
