da dobrowin: According to Football Insider, Wolves are plotting a move to sign Liverpool’s Harry Wilson. The 22-year-old has starred whilst on loan at Derby this season.
What’s the word?
Wilson has easily been one of the best players in the Championship this campaign, turning in some phenomenal displays for Derby after Liverpool loaned him out to the second tier last summer.
He’s been a revelation so it’s no surprise to see him now attracting interest from Premier League clubs.
Football Insider claim that Wolves are planning to swoop for the attacker, who has had a huge £25m price tag slapped on his head by Jurgen Klopp.
The report notes that the German manager has given the green light for him to be sold should that valuation be met.
Change of formation on the cards?
The Welshman has the ability to play in a variety of positions – one of the reasons that make him such an attractive proposition.
Wilson has predominantly played in wide areas, though, finding the net 18 times for the Rams in all-competitions. He’s played a huge part in Derby’s run to the play-off final, also managing four assists.
With his ability to play on the wing in mind, Wolves may have to switch their formation in order to bring the best out of him.
For large parts of the campaign, Nuno Santo has preferred a 3-5-2 formation which sees two wing backs providing the team with width. Of course, the two front men have been Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez.
However, for the large majority of last season, Nuno opted for a 3-4-3 or a 5-4-1. This included wing-backs and also wingers, who could tuck in closer to the striker when needed.

Both formations were incredibly successful as the club achieved promotion. But despite that, the Wolves boss decided to ditch his wingers towards the back end of 2018.
That means a move for Wilson could involve the club reverting to their ways of old.
He is simply far too good to sit on the bench so it surely must be under consideration.
