da bwin: The saga involving Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil continues to drag on, and now Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has sparked fresh concern with his latest comments.
da bet esporte: During his pre-match press conference on Thursday, the Frenchman told reporters that the pair are no closer to signing new contracts at the club, but neither of them will be sold before their deals run out in 18 months’ time.
While addressing the media, Wenger said:
“A contract is negotiations in this case between two parties. On my side, the best position is to achieve it earlier. These players will stay here for at least 18 months. I cannot repeat always the same things.
“I think at some stage you have to accept that negotiations are private and secret, and we do not always have to come out every day to explain what we do in football negotiations. We are professional people, we work until the last day of our contracts with full commitment.
“These players have 18 months on their contracts and, no matter what happens, they will stay for 18 months. Hopefully they’ll stay for longer than that.”
The Telegraph reports that the stall in negotiations is related to the players’ wage demands, with the newspaper’s sources claiming that both Ozil and Sanchez want their salaries bumped up to £384,000 a week.
Considering that neither have signed on the dotted line yet, there is growing concern that they will depart the Emirates.
As far as Wenger seems to be concerned, though, he is not prepared to sell the duo for big bucks even if they decide not to renew their deals.
The comments from the Arsenal boss has caused concern among supporters, some of whom are getting frustrated with the club’s failure to tie the pair down.
