da bet esporte: Despite an inconsistent season, Manchester United have achieved their primary aim for the season and have qualified for the Champions League, securing their place in the top four after Liverpool’s failure to beat Crystal Palace.
da winzada777: One man that has been instrumental to their success again this term is their Spanish star David de Gea, who continues to show why he is considered one of the world’s best goalkeepers.
Unfortunately for the Red Devils it appears his performances have come at a cost with the club expected to lose their number one to Real Madrid this summer and it’s thought that this weekend’s trip to Hull could be his last game for United.
The former Atletico man looks set to return to Madrid as the Spanish giants set about bringing in a long term replacement for Iker Casillas, and despite United’s best efforts it’s hard to see them keeping hold of him in the transfer window.
But although losing a player of his quality will come as a blow to Louis van Gaal, there are a number of quality options that could help soften it should they be available.
The club have been linked with a number of experienced goalkeepers should they lose their star man, and here are the top five in question as we take a look at potential De Gea replacements…

Samir Handanovic
One option could be Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford and has just one year left on his contract with the Serie A club.
The 30-year-old Slovenian international has yet to commit to Milan, and is thought to be after a move to a Champions League club, a competition the Italians will miss out on again next season.
Handanovic is held in high regard and considered one of the best goalkeepers in the division, and one United apparently have on their shortlist.
Asmir Begovic
One of the favourites to take over from De Gea, should he leave, is Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic who has once again impressed this season for the Potters.
And just like Handanovic, the Bosnian is also nearing the end of his contract with just 12 months left on his current deal which means he could be available for as little as £8m.
The 27-year-old has certainly proved his worth over the past few seasons, and looks more than capable at playing for one of the league’s top clubs.
It could be a good time for Begovic to chase his dream of Champions League football, and it would be no surprise to see him leave the Britannia this summer.
Petr Cech
Petr Cech is still arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world and so would have no trouble taking over the reigns from De Gea as he considers his next career move.
After losing his place in the Chelsea side to Thibaut Courtois the 32-year-old has been given the green light to seek first-team football elsewhere, and along with Arsenal; Manchester United are said to be interested in the Czech star.
Whether Chelsea allow their former number one a move to potential title rivals remains to be seen, but he certainly has plenty left to offer which ever team wins the race for his signature.
Hugo Lloris
Spurs shot-stopper Hugo Lloris is the favourite to take over the mantle as first choice at Old Trafford as his side missed out on Champions League qualification once again.
The Frenchman has only kept seven clean sheets this season, but has impressed yet again this campaign with a string of fine saves, making him one of the stand out performers in the Spurs team.
The club are desperate to keep hold of the former Lyon keeper, meaning United may have to fork out at least £25m to get their man, but on current form he looks their best bet and having already shown his ability in the Premier League could prove the ideal replacement.
Victor Valdes
If it’s experience that Louis van Gaal is after then he may consider sticking with what he’s already got with Victor Valdes making plenty of appeal to takeover as United’s new number one.
The former Barcelona star won the lot during his time in Spain, picking up six La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns.
Having recovered from a serious knee injury, he completed his comeback as he made his debut as a substitute against Arsenal last weekend, and certainly deserves a chance to stake his claim for the position given his unquestionable ability.
At 33, he still has a plenty of time at the top level and will certainly be hungry to impress after such a long absence from first-team football.
Some will say it will be a risk, but given the winners medals he has amassed, it looks a risk worth taking.
