Liverpool fans were unhappy with one of Jurgen Klopp’s decisions in the brilliant win against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Boxing Day.
Captain Jordan Henderson went down less than 10 minutes from time with the visitors leading 4-0 against Brendan Rodgers’ men, but rather than handing 18-year-old midfielder Curtis Jones what would have been his second Premier League appearance for the club, the German manager instead decided to introduce Adam Lallana for the skipper.

While it is understandable that he brought the experienced Englishman on to see out the game against the Foxes, it also seemed the perfect opportunity to give some minutes to a teenager in a game that was done and dusted.
Many Liverpool supporters were certainly left unimpressed that Jones wasn’t introduced instead of Lallana, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
One said “why give Lallana mins when his LFC career is basically over”, while another said they were “kinda mad” with Klopp.
However, not everyone was keen to stick the knife in, with one individual saying that while they would have liked to have seen Jones in action, they trust in Klopp.

That’s fair enough given what he has achieved during his time at Anfield, with the win against Leicester surely another big step towards their first title of the Premier League era.
