da roleta: According to The Independent, Bayern Munich are convinced that they have won the race to sign Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer in the summer.
What’s the word?
The Welsh midfielder will be leaving the Emirates Stadium at the end of this season, when his current contract with the Gunners expires, as reported by Sky Sports.
Ramsey has been with Arsenal for over a decade now, and has won three FA Cups (scoring the winning goal in two of the finals) during his time in north London. However, despite having made over 300 appearances for the club, he has not been a regular in Unai Emery’s starting XI so far this season.

With the 27-year-old seemingly not in the new manager’s plans, the club took a decision not to offer Ramsey a lucrative new deal and instead resigned themselves to losing him on a free. The German outfit look set to be the benefactors of that decision, though, Arsenal aren’t exactly losers in this scenario.
A win for everyone
Whilst the Gunners will be frustrated to be missing out on a transfer fee in return for one of their most valuable assets, their firm stance on Ramsey’s future is an indication of the new direction the club are heading in.
Rather than pandering to the midfielder’s demands, the Gunners have made a bold choice to move on without Ramsey and continue their overhaul of the squad.
Meanwhile, Ramsey himself ought to be delighted with what looks sure to be a great move for his career. What’s more, Arsenal have dodged the bullet of losing him to a Premier League rival.
If this deal does indeed go through at the end of the season, then Arsenal, Ramsey and Bayern can all be satisfied with how the situation has ended up.
